Would someone on the list have access to a 1900 directory of Baltimore and could look up the whereabouts of Henry E. Pusey. I know that he was living on S. Greene Street in 1896, but moved before the 1900 census was taken. Would appreciate any help with this. Alice Baker Beard

Liz, We would pass here on our way shopping downtown. I remember once asking my Grandmother how tall the "little Sisters" were. List- I know this is a general question but while searching for Michael Huber who married Magdalena Kerbel in Baltimore CIty, Maryland, I found the listing for Michael but under the heading of citizen it stated "Fa" and no date in the next column. There were several of these on the same page of census, so I know I didn't read it wrong. The other aliens stated "Na" Naturalized and the next column was the year naturalized. I am wondering what "Fa" stands for? He came to the US in 1914 which was also one of the columns listed. Since no question is supposed to be stupid I am humbly asking this question. Kathy

Yes, they are located next to each other at 601 - 603 Maiden Choice Lane. As you drive into the entrance, it circles the building, and around to the right side, at the back corner of the main building, to the right sits Saint Martins home, for retired Priest's. Tim, Would you ask your wife to check the next time she goes to work and ask them if it is possible to get records from the 1920's? and if so where can they be obtained? Should I contact them at their new address or what? I am working on a DAR application and cannot locate a 1922 death cert. When I look up the name in the census index for 1920 I found, what I believe to be the person I am looking for listed in this census as Inmate in the Little Sisters of the Poor Home of the Aged , age 87 Widower born in MD. The church record I have shows he died in 1922 at age 89. Only two people with this name come up on the 1820 census index for Maryland and the other is his son (which I have the death Cert for). Thanks so much for responding.
