My connection to that name has not been established and I have found very little help. Here is where the name appears in my Mauler/Mahler line. It is the Naturalization papers for Herman Mahler where Henry Appel & Valentine Hase (Hax?) were witnesses, so they certainly must have known the Mauler family. Then there is a John Appel on the 1860 Baltimore census who was born about the same time as Herman Mahler. If you think there would be any connection to your Appel family, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. 2. Hey, List! I've just discovered a son of the brother of my husband's grandfather: Morgan Cyril DUVAL (1906-1955) who married Eva M. (surname unknown) (1907-1989) Does anyone know if they had children? Both are buried in Baltimore National Cemetery, but apparently neither died in Maryland since their death notices do not appear in the Baltimore papers. Thanks. 3. Does anyone have information on Baltimore/Ann Arundel Land records showing a property called Tanyard. I'm trying to find the original sale to Greenbury Treake during time frame 1765-1832. Land records of Baltimore County Liber A J number 222, folio 543 list a Mortgage Indenture between Samuel Brown and Greenbury Treakle for a part of tract known as Tanyard in Baltimore County. Release of mortgage is Index listing MSA WK 1292-1293 TK 277 pg. 496 (496-497). Baltimore site has original land survey. Owned by Emanuel Teal upto 1765 (certificate & plat says 637) 1702 Nathanel Stinchomb purchased it near Mr. Baker. Description says North side of the falls. Was told it would be southwest of Catonsville, in the atlas at the land called Oak Grove, Thistle Manuf. Co 117 acres, J Small Jr., J. A. Head.. Howard County and Anne Arundel put out a wonderful reproduction of the Atlas but have not found the same for Baltimore County so that I could see where the property is in relation to Ellicott City. Would they appear on the ship's list of passengers? WOuld there be a record of their passports somewhere? Where? Thanks for any info! I need to narrow down when they returned, because I am sure that is when my great-grandmother died and I have not been able to find that date. Mona
