    1. Re: [BALTGEN-L] Baltimore Census Wards
    2. Robin, In 1850 Ward 9 was the area bounded by Baltimore St. on the north, the Jones Falls on the east, the City Limits to Pratt St. on the south, and Charles St. on the west. The ward boundaries were changed in 1860, but I'm not certain that the changes were effective for the 1860 Census. If not, the 1850 Ward configuration continued In 1860 Ward 9, changed to the area bounded by Franklin St. on the north, Jones Falls on the east, Pratt St. on the south, and Charles St. on the west. (Not too much of a change). The next change in the Ward map did not occur until 1882, so for 1870 and 1880 use the 1960 configuration. 3. Robin I ordered an 1880 ward map from the library of Congress. If you get me a street I will try and pinpoint the ward. 3. Sue, Mt.Olivet is about a mile or 2 from my house, as I live one block off Frederick Rd. in Catonsville. The road turns to street when you cross into Baltimore City. And you know, I passed by Mt. Olivet Cemetery for years, not even realizing it was there, as it has these high stone walls going down Frederick Ave. I didn't pay attention until I got into genealogy, and purchased the 3 books on that cemetery.
