My g grandaunt, Anne Horn, married Charles L. Griffith who was born ca. 1855. I have Charles' parents as John T. and Sarah Griffith. They had a son, William, born ca. 1861, who may be the William you are looking for. Other children were: Laura, Edward, Sarah U., and Annie. This info is from the 1880 Census though I do not have the cite. Now, in 1885, this John T. Griffith was a carder in a cotton mill, living in Hampden. In 1895 he was living at 209 Cedar Ave., in Hampden. Norm In a message dated 12/2/2005 12:58:51 P.M. Try the Maryland State Archives for naturalizations filed in local courts and the NARA Mid-Atlantic Region ([email protected]) for those filed in Federal court in Baltimore. Those filed in Maryland Federal court around 1850 will not have any more information than you already have. All the court maintained was a register with name, country of origin, and date of naturalization. Rebecca >Subject: Naturalization Record >Where might I find a naturalization record of a person from Scotland wholived in Baltimore and became a citizen by 1850?
Would like to exchange information with anyone interested in any of the following families that lived in Baltimore during the mid and/or late 1800s or the early 1900s.
Where might I find a naturalization record of a person from Scotland who lived in Baltimore and became a citizen by 1850? Thanks a lot.
I have a few pictures of my grandparents witha group of people. Taken during the early 1940's. My uncle was visiting and identified a few of the people. Most are family except for Charlie Mills and Bucky Hobbs. These were taken in Baltimore city at a nightclub. One picture everyone is unknown. But If there is anyone out there that has a Charlie Mills or a Bucky Hobbs in their family. I will be more then glad to email a copy of the photo. They both look to be in their early to mid 20's. My uncle said they were friends of my dad and other uncle so that would have been about the right age. Lynn
It may be more beneficial to obtain a copy of his Death Certificate from the State Archives. The Archives has a death index on its website: http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/ Click on Vital Records. next screen click on death records; next screen click on Baltimore City, if that is where you think he died. The Death Certificate should contain information regarding his birth date/location, parents, and burial location. Dear Listers, I would encourage everyone on any of the Baltimore Lists to sign up for all 3 lists: MDBALTIM MD-BALTIMORECITY and BALTGEN There are some repeats, but also alot of postings that only appear on one list or the other.
