    1. Re: Bakers from Germany
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BAKER, LANE, BAIL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JCC.2ACEB/144.334.2 Message Board Post: Yvonne, I don't know if these connect but I thought I'd throw it in here. Joseph BAKER b.? d. unknown place married Mary [who signed a paper Meri BECKAR---this is the only time I found the Beckar name). They lived in Libertytown area of Frederick Co MD, but I don't think MD was their first residence. I know they had at least 2 children: Phillip and Catherine (unknown birth order). Phillip married a BAIL. (Bail, Bale, Baile, Bails, Bailes). Catherine married my ancestor John Lane Sr (another whole story and Brick wall !) on Jan 23 1805. In Oct. 1809 Joseph Baker & his family and John Lane & his family move to Washington Co PA arriving before the 1810 Census where we believe they are all in the same house. Skipping ahead, Joseph Baker dies 1815. If I remember right, he had a brother named John. Then the son Phillip dies ca. 1816. He had ch. but I don't off-hand remember names. Catherine Baker Lane supposedly died in 1822 - no proof. One of John and Catherine Baker Lane's children was (Rev.) Daniel Lane who married Anna England. I was told, but do not know how accurate it is, that ENGLAND is also YINGLING. We were researching Bedford Co PA for info on our Englands. So this might not fit, but I thought I'd submit it in case it is a clue. If any of my info connects to anyone's families, please email. I am still researching all these people and where they came from before Washington Co., Pa. These families are German. Joseph Baker read books in Dutch (His Account/Probate Record). They might have gone to a Lutheran Church? Lane was a founder of a German Baptist a.k.a. Church of the Brethren church. They were associated with many Brethren families in MD & PA. Judy
