List Members, I am in need of some advice and assistance. I am researching the George W. Baker and Catherine Winget Baker family history my gg-grandparents, and I have run into a big problem. I find that apparently either my gg-grandfather had either more than one wife, or ............ I find Wilson L. Baker is in the George and Catherine Baker census records for several years, as their son. I have a lot of information on their children, however the above mentioned son has two sets of parents. I first thought it was a type, but now I am certain that it is not. George Baker is listed in the Auglaize County Probate Births with three wife Catherine Winget Catherine Wengos Katherine Meyers Wilson is listed into above mentioned book as the son of George Baker and Katherine Meyers, list obituary from Marion, Grant County, Indian states that his mother was Katherine Meyers. So what are your suggestions. He always has the same wife, that is mentioned in my family history from family members. I have tried to contact someone with the above mention family members, but have received no answers. I am confused. Please help. My gg-grandparents live din Auglaize County, Ohio for many years. Were there religions allowing for more than one wife, or what were the laws concerning marriage in 1858 through 1875? I have done enough research to be sure that Wilson is a family member.
