Baker, 75, of Route 22, Essex, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Chazy, July 4, 1925, the son of John and Rose (Supernault) Baker. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married the former Phoebe Jerome on April 25, 1978. Floyd was a self-employed contractor having worked in the area for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 125 in Plattsburgh. Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Baker of Essex; one daughter, Dorothy Baker of Essex; one son, John Baker and his companion Theresa Borden of Essex; four grandsons and three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; three step-children, Mary Lou Mayers of AuSable Forks, Cynthia Pierce of Plattsburgh and Louis King of Keeseville; five step-grandchildren; 1 stepgreat-grandchild; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Bernard Defayette of Plattsburgh and Pauline and Tom Cross of Indiana; one brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Verna Baker of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, June. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Westport Bible Church.
