Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JCC.2ACEB/8732 Message Board Post: Is anyone out there researching BAKERS from Gibson County? I have a Josiah BAKER that was in Gibson County, where he married Mary J. FORRESTER Dec. 2, 1834. This BAKER family was then in Gibson County until sometime between 1850 and 1860 (probably not long after 1850). I'm not too sure where they were on the 1860 Census, but they show up in Greene Co., Arkansas in 1870. That's where they stayed until their deaths. Mary J. FORRESTER was the daughter of Mark Forrester, but I'm trying to figure out who the parents of Josiah BAKER were. He's turned into a brick wall. Later census records state that he was born in Kentucky and his birth would have been about 1814/1815. I've found nothing to indicate where in Kentucky he may have originated. Since Josiah BAKER and Mary J. FORRESTER married in 1834, I've checked the 1830 Census to see what BAKERS may have been living there. I find only 5 BAKER households in 1830 Gibson County. Of those, only a Samuel BAKER has a male in the household that fits Josiah's age range, but because of Samuel's age I'm not sure it could be his son. So, if anyone is familiar with any of these early Gibson County BAKERs, I'd sure appreciate any help I might get. Particularly, if you know of any that may have come from Kentucky. Thanks, Randall Baker
