Baker, 76, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Rome in Rouses Point, where she was a resident since 1985. Born in Plattsburgh on April 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mabel A. Baker. Miss Baker was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School and SUNY Plattsburgh. She taught school in various school districts, including Ogdensburg school district for 35 years. She was sister to the late Charles W. Baker of Troy. She is survived by six nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at the Harkness Cemetery at a later date. Friends are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Residential Council Committee at Cedar Hedge, 260 Lake St., Rouses Point, NY 12979.
