Survivors include: mother, Shirley Taylor, Thomson, GA; fiancé, James Malone, Thomson, GA; sister, Tonya Young, Thomson, GA; nieces, Rebecca Burchfield and Rachel (Chevy) Butler, Thomson, GA. She was the daughter of the late William Melvin Hulsey. Ms. Baker was a native of Richmond and Columbia Counties but lied in Blairsville and McDuggie counties for the past few years. She was a graduate of Thomson High and Westland College of Macon with a degree in Christian Education. Ms. Baker was also former Youth Director of the Church of Nazarene in Blairsville, GA and a member of St. Paul United Methodist. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2005 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers were Chevy Butler, Nick Powers, David Young and James Malone. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richmond County Humane Society.
