Webster, Feb. 3, 1853; she was born in Ingham Co., Mich., in Aug., 1835; they moved to Belle Plaine in 1866, and Mr. Baker engaged in the mercantile business, in which he continued until 1876; they have one child -- W. N.; he is now attending the Iowa University, at Iowa City, Johnson Co., this State. *Note from researcher, Carole Alden I believe this is Hiram Joseph Baker mentioned in the book, Shattuck Mems. p 297 with the same birthdate and place of birth. except the Mems. also give the city of birth, Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY.
