The areas that this book covers are these: New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Lavrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Acadian, and the Institue of the Maritimes. The name of the book is "Genealogist's Handbook for Atlantic Canada Research" by Terrence M. Punch. The International Standard Book Number to give you librarian is : 0-88082-067-5 which will enable your librarian to find within your state library system this book immediately. It has to be available somewhere because the transitness that the US and Canada has been overtime has been fluid; Both countries have individuals who float inbetween these two boarders since the beginning of time...and I mean since 1400. Somewhere to begin perhaps while waiting for the book would be to write to this address and make some of your inquiries: Newfoundland Historical Society Room 15, Colonial Building Military Road St. John's, Newfoundland A1C 2C7 This book gives a contact name and addresses where all publications holdings are kept and their availabilty to the genealogist. There is the same for all Canadian census, church/parish holdings, newspapers, gives the where to find any census before the beginning of time (1400 within this continent, immigration, cemeteries, BMD information, manuscript collections, libraries, museums, archives, historical and genealogical information...so to say the least, for a book with only 163 pages, it's information is awesome. That's the best I can do with regards to information. Hope you find your men! Rhonda Warmack Houston (rfhouston@mindspring.com)
