My aunt Georgia Ellis (named for her) has always said that her middle name was Carolina, and was named that way because she was born about the time the family moved from GA to SC. The 1860 census (pg. 276, Abbeville, Mountain View township) lists a Saml. S. Baker (37-yr) and Leonora Baker (2?-yr) with two 2-year old girls living with them, named Georgia and Carolina, as well as a 10-mo. old boy Theoph(olus). I put the two girls (twins?) down as a census error. My family is adamant that there were no twins. A 12-year old Georgia Baker is listed in the household of 40-yr. old Jane Baker in the 1870 census. I have one picture of her ca. 1924 holding granddaughter Orpha Lee Suttles. I am a grandson of Lawrence Rosco Speer. Which is your line? Barry
