Mary MITCHELL was bap 2 Feb 1790, Withycombe, Somerset and was buried 13 Apr 1852, Withiel Florey, Somerset - she was the daughter of Henry MITCHELL and Elizabeth "Betty" WATTS. William BAKER was buried on 12 Dec 1830 at Withiel Florey, aged 34, so was born about 1795. William and Mary BAKER had a son, John BAKER, in 1818 at Withycombe, Somerset, but I believe they also had further children at the nearby village of Withiel Florey (according to the IGI they had William in 1823 and Robert in 1828). John BAKER, born 1818, Withycombe, married Mary Ann FARMER (born circa 1819, Upton, Somerset, daughter of George FARMER and Mary HEMBURROW) on 6 Jan 1841 at Upton Parish Church, Somerset. John BAKER and Mary Ann FARMER had ten children: 1. Elizabeth BAKER, born circa 1841, Brompton Regis, Somerset. Married Robert CHAPMAN of Nettlecombe. Had 5 children. Became a widow and then married Robert's brother, Thomas CHAPMAN. Had further 4 children. Lived at Nettlecombe, Old Cleeve, and then Minehead, Somerset. 2. Jane BAKER, born circa 1842, Brompton Regis. Married Levi CRIDDLE at Withiel Florey, 1867. Had 5 children. After Levi's death, Jane married Richard SYMS, 1882, Huish Champflower, Somerset. Had further 4 children. Lived at Huish Champflower, Somerset. 3. Harriet BAKER, born 1845, Brompton Regis. Married William COWLIN at Timberscombe, Somerset in 1868. Had 11 children. Lived at Timberscombe (1871), Dunster (1881), Stogumber (1891) and Milverton, Somerset (1901). 4. William BAKER, born circa 1847, Brompton Regis. Married Mary A. SHOPLAND, 1876, Huish Champflower, Somerset. Had 8 children. Moved to London circa 1883. 5. John BAKER, born circa 1850, Brompton Regis. May have moved to Wales? 6. James BAKER, born circa 1852, Brompton Regis. Married Jane FLEW, 1873, Huish Champflower, Somerset. Had 6 children. Family moved to Monmouthshire, South Wales before 1885. 7. George BAKER, born circa 1854, Brompton Regis. Married Sarah RICHARDS, 1876, Huish Champflower, Somerset. Had 8 children. Family moved to Glamorgan, South Wales before 1885. 8.
