Well, Since Kentucky didn't come into its own as a state, it wasn't until the 1820 census that these Bakers listed below are shown as living in Fayette, KY, although they could have been living within that area before 1820. Perhaps the genealogical, historical societies would assist you. I am on the two Kentucky genealogical lists and that University of Kentucky really has their stuff together historically and although it wasn't until 1911 when records were required to be recorded, there are societies with very helpful information. David Baker Not Stated,Fayette,KY 1820 Name: David Baker Township: Not Stated County: Fayette State: Kentucky Year: 1820 Roll: M33_17 Page: 101 Image Number: 109 Household: 1-2-1-0-0-0-0-1 5-2-3-0-5-0-3-1 This census taker placed too many numbers within the required slots....I don't think this Baker is the one you need, although he might be related, as well as the second Baker list below. Six columns for free males and Six colums for free females were provided, and it's beyond me how this census taker got so many numbers involved!! Jehue Baker Not Stated,Fayette,KY 1820 Name: Jehue Baker Township: Not Stated County: Fayette State: Kentucky Year: 1820 Roll: M33_17 Page: 65 Image Number: 77 Household: 0-2-0-1-1-0 2-1-0-0-0-2 John Baker Not Stated,Fayette,KY 1820 Name: John Baker Township: Not Stated County: Fayette State: Kentucky Year: 1820 Roll: M33_17 Page: 67 Household: 1-0-0-1-0-1 0-0-0-0-0-0 Apparently, there were no free females within this house by 1820. I'd get on a Kentucy, Fayette County gene list and see what you can find out. There are documents available for those looking for ancestors who fought in the War of 1812, but to ask a good question as to where do I look, you have to know something and where to find the correct person to ask this question of and these gene lists are wonderful for this type of information!! He fought in the War of 1812 after which he married Cynthia Hutcherson (Hutchison?). Their daughter, Malinda Martha Baker married George W. Coleman and were my great grandparents. I am looking for information on parents of John and Cynthia as well as information about their children. Of course I will gladly share the information I have.
