Services will be at New Horizon Cemetery, Tipton. Burial will be at the cemetery. Visitation will be at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Ms. Baker was born to parents Nettie (Adams) and Seth Baker Aug. 10, 1937, in Tipton. She is survived by sisters Agnes Wade of Muscatine, Mary Luettjohann of Tipton and Alice Baker of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Earl Baker. ================== MUSCATINE, Iowa Florence M. Baker, 90, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at her home. Services will be at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Rev. F. Stephens will officiate. Organist will be Betty Lincoln. Pallbearers will be Steve Lamb, Norman Lamb, Mike Bishop Sr., Jerry Bishop and Brian Bishop. Honorary bearers will be her great-grandsons. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Homes. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Seventh Day Adventist Church or Television Station 3 ABN, Frankfort, Ill. Mrs. Baker was born July 19, 1909, in Muscatine, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Rineley Lockwood. She married Norman G. Neipert on July 27, 1925. He died on March 9, 1946. She married Oscar Baker on Jan. 7, 1952. She was a charter member of the Muscatine Seventh Day Adventist Church. She attend the church school at 405 W. Fifth St. and also the old Garfield School. She was instrumental in procuring the building for the first Seventh Day Adventist Community Center, located at the corner of Fourth and Sycamore and was the former home of the late Fred and Lydia Bilkey. She was a faithful church member and attended services until shortly before her passing. She loved to crochet and made countless Afghans for all her family, she dearly loved. She was employed as a nurse's aide at Riverview Heights Nursing Home and retired from Benjamin Hershey Convalescent Home at age 72. Survivors include two daughters, Doris L. Lamb and Belva P. Bishop and Merle 'Bud' Hartsock, all of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren, Debra Estabrook and her husband, Murry, Rct. LCDR USN of Choctaw, Okla., Steve Lamb and his wife, Nancy, of Hudsonville, Mich., Norman Lamb and his wife, Roxanne, of Muscatine, Pam Lamb and Kathy Ash of Fairbury, Neb., Cyndi Brown and her husband, Jerry, of Fairbury Neb., Lori Peek and her husband, Tom, of Tipton, Mike 'Beaver' Bishop Sr., and Lisa Norris of Grandview, Jerry Bishop and his wife, Janet, of Muscatine, Cheryl Wheeler and Dennis Cozad of Muscatine, Brian Bishop and his wife, Shirley, of New Boston, Sue Campbell and her husband, Chuck, of Grandview; 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands; two sisters, Pearl Arboigast and Belva Thornsbury; a brother, Ed Lockwood; her son-in-law, Lysle R. Lamb and her granddaughter, Lisa Kay Bishop. ================= TIPTON, Iowa Robert William Baker, 75, of Marshfield, Wis., died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be at the Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. The Rev. David Sommerfeld will officiate. Vocalists will be Chris and Luann Baker. Mr. Baker was born March 7, 1925, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Clement C. and Lila Cady Baker. He married Winifred Betty Eves on Oct. 8, 1955, in Preston, Minn. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corp from 1943-1954. He worked for 3M Co. as a manager and was a farmer. He was a veteran of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Winifred Betty Baker of Marshfield, Wis.; two sons, David A. Baker of Marshfield, Wis. and Christopher S. Baker and his wife, Luann of Greenwood, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Eric, Ryan and Jennifer Baker of Greenwood, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and two brothers. =============== WILTON, Iowa Maxine Baker, 75, Wilton, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center West, Davenport. Services are at First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. The Rev. Bruce Giese will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Sharon Bowers. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitations are at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mrs. Baker was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Knob Noster, Mo., the daughter of Casper and Florence Blaine Craig. She married Herman Charles Baker on Sept. 2, 1951, in Columbia, Mo. She was a veterinary assistant and dog groomer at the Sunset View Veterinary Clinic, Wilton. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Regeana Arrowood and her husband, James, of Wilton and Rene Grady of Orland Park, Ill.; a son, Kirk Baker and his wife, Lori, of Muscatine; a brother, Russell Craig and his wife, Katherine, of Sedalia, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Tanya Stephens, Tyler Arrowood, Kyle, Kathleen and Natalie Baker and Ryan and Nathan Grady; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Hunter Stephens. She was preceded by her parents; a son, Roger Baker; two sisters, Bernice Bullard and Agnes Craig; four brothers, Forrest Craig, Emery Craig, Marion Craig and Glen Craig. ============== WEST BRANCH, Iowa Grace Baker, 91, West Branch, formerly of Tipton, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center, West Branch, after an extended illness. Services are at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, West Branch. The Rev. Dennis Martin will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Valley. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established. The Barker Funeral Home, West Branch, is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Baker was born Dec. 22, 1912, near Cedar Valley, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Driscoll Baker. After the death of her mother at an early age, she cared for her father and brothers for many years. She was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church. She enjoyed euchre, cooking and baking. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mabel Baker of West Branch; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ed, Joe and Francis. =============== DUBUQUE, Iowa Stanley M. Baker, 96, a former resident of Muscatine, died Monday, May 31, 2004, a t ManorCare Health Services in Dubuque. Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Baker was born on April 13, 1908, in Muscatine, the son of Paul S. and Cora Daughtery Baker. He married Katherine R. Hill on December 10, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a chemist for the Bendix Corporation in Davenport, Iowa. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge No. 304. Survivors include one son, Paul S. Baker of Munster, Indiana; one daughter, Kay L. Schroeder and husband, Kenneth, of Dubuque; two grandchildren, Paul Schroeder and wife, Linda, of Dubuque, and Janelle Schroeder of Muscatine; and one great-granddaughter, Holly Schroeder of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1995, and two brothers. ============= MUSCATINE, Iowa Joan M. Baker, 70, Muscatine, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Service will be at the Walnut Park Baptist Church. The Rev. Dennis Hakes will officiate. Casket bearers are Howard Hilton, Geoff Hilton, William Hilton, Alan Hilton, Kirk Baker, Kyle Baker, Tyler Arrowood, Nathan Schubick, Matthew Schulte and Steve Kaufmann. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. After the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Visitation will be at the Geo. M. Mrs. Baker was born June 3, 1936, in Muscatine, the daughter of Elmer J. and Cora B. Haan TeStrake. She married Herman C. Baker on March 24, 1984, in Muscatine. She was a 1954 graduate of Muscatine High School. She was a member of Walnut Park Baptist Church and Siesta Bay Church of Fort Myers, Fla. where she was very active in several different groups. She also sang in the choir as well as played the organ and piano. She enjoyed playing tennis and reading. She served on the Muscatine City Council from 1978-83, Muscatine City Planning and Zoning Board and Family Resource Board. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Patrick A. Hilton and wife Shannan of Muscatine and John D. Hilton of Milan, Ill.; two daughters, Connie S. Osborn and husband Larry of Muscatine and Kelly S. Septer and husband Gary of Fairfield; a stepson, Kirk C. Baker and wife Lori of Muscatine; two stepdaughters, Regeana K. Arrowood and husband James of Wilton and Renee L. Grady of Orland Park, Ill.; two brothers, Myron J. TeStrake and wife Shirley of Muscatine and Donald L. TeStrake and wife Sue of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Marion A. Hilton and Virginia R. Drinkall and husband Dale, all of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. ============= DAVENPORT, Iowa Evelyn L. Baker, 74, of Davenport, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center West Campus in Davenport. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate in Moline. Mrs. Baker was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Brooklyn, Iowa, the daughter of Darrell and Bethel (Graham) Mullen. She married James Baker on Nov. 14, 1964, in Muscatine. She worked for the Rock Island Argus and the Moline Dispatch as a stuffer. She was a member of Living Water Family Church in Davenport. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Judy Baker of Moline; a stepdaughter, Starr (Jaime) Ferguson of McGregor, Iowa; a grandson, Tim Baker of Moline; five stepgrandchildren, Heather, Chad and Jeff Ferguson of McGregor and Nikki and Mathew Ottinger of Virginia; two brothers, Louran (Patricia) Mullen and Fred (Karen) Mullen, all of Muscatine; a sister-in-law, Cora (Harold) Schumacher of Camanche, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Lee Baker; a daughter, Jackie; a brother, Raymond; and a sister, Hazel. ============== JEFFERSON, Iowa Pearl Janet Crawford Baker, 95, of Jefferson, died Thursday, April 27, 2000. Services were at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. The Rev. Judy Miller officiated. Pallbearers were Jim North, Dr. Merton Hawk, Roger Olhausen, Dr. Robert Burke, Brian Wright, and Dr. Eugene Houk. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. George Canady, Les Siglin, Dr. Lawrence L. Marshall, Francis Tasler, Russell Holt. Mrs. Baker was born July 13, 1904, in Lone Tree, the daughter of Thomas A. Crawford and Jo Anna Cone Crawford. She married Dr. Edwin G. Baker on June 29, 1928, in Rockwell City. The couple moved to Jefferson that year and started a dental practice. She was active in her husband practice, going into homes since Jefferson didn't have a hospital. She was a Red Cross nurse and taught home nursing to five different schools in the county. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was past matron and life member of the Order Of The Eastern Star and past president and honorary member of Friday Literary Club. She was a leader of the Girls Camp Fire for many years. She was the first in the county to work for the American Cancer Society and worked on the blood mobile in Jefferson. She was a life member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association. Survivors include her son, Dr. Bruce Baker and his wife, Marsha of Sun City, Ariz.; a son-in-law, Eddie Coover and his wife, Nancy, of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Blanche Lewis of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Lisa Coover Otto and her husband, Darrel, Todd Coover and his wife, Angeli, Kirk Baker and his wife, Mika, and Pam Johnson and her husband, Dave; six great-grandchildren, Hannah and Drew Otto, Kari and Jamie Coover, Ashley Johnson and Angela Baker; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1987; a daughter, Nancy in 1974; four sisters; and three brothers.
