He was the son of Morris Baker and Martha Jane Smith. Zachariah married Sarah Cox (1777-1840) in Ashe County, North Carolina. I have 10 children listed for them: Robert, Katherine (1800-1853), Sarah (1802-1872), Jeremiah (1804-1859), James (1805-1853), Thas (1805-????), Hiram (1807-????), Cynthia (1808-1886), Morris Cox (1813-1877), and Kilby (1818-1881).
