I am a descendant of Franklin BAKER, the youngest brother of the man you believe is your Alexander BAKER. Pam BAKER who also has a message above for you believes that her William "Alexander" is THE older brother of my Franklin. They cannot be the same man, obviously. What family history has led you to believe that your man is the son of William and Margaret BAKER from NY-WI? What documents do you have that give the parents or anything else on your man so we can help you get this sorted out? It will certainly help us unravel this too. We have Alexander on the 1850 Jefferson Co, WI census with Elizabeth, Almira and Franklin. It is possible that Alexander did serve in the civil war because Franklin served near the end of the war. I have the probate record for Franklin's father William A. which names the 5 kids. There was a younger sister Mary born after the census. Anxious to get to the bottom of the "Alexander BAKER" mystery.
