OH) made a will in 1874, living in Appanoose Co. Iowa, which named his three older daughters (Lucy Hackathorn, Sarah Higginbotham, and Dicinda Pugh), then "the heirs of Cynthia Simmons" and then his four stepsons, surname Stearns. In 1870, Cynthia and her husband Richard Simmons and thier two children are in the census as living with Benjamin and his wife (appanoose county, Iowa). In 1874, Benjamin made his will leaving Cynthia out. In 1875 the Simmons' daughter Edith was born in Kansas, and they are in Kansas for the 1880 census. Benjamin died in 1885. The executor of his will was Jacob Farnsworth, Benjamin's brother in law by Cynthia's mother. Looking for any more info or records to shed light on this.
