I have found most of my information on these ancestors by Googling the first names of their children, Faba and Olyette. The Bakers named their daughter Olyette and they lived in Tompkins County at the same time that Hiram Smith and Lydia McGowan Smith lived there and their daughter was named Olyette as well. I was hoping my luck would continue in my searching of that unusual name and I would find a family connection in the Baker line to my Smith or McGowan ancestors...
