BAKER died at his home on Lawrence St. last night. He was a native of Tennessee, born January 12, 1949 and was 72 years old. He is survived by his wife, two sons, GEORGE and E. L. in Detroit, Michigan and one daughter, Mrs. MARY HOGAN of Gainesville. For some years, Mr. Baker had been an employee of the local Santa Fe railroad roundhouse. Friday, June 17, 1921 Funeral of W. E. F. Baker The funeral of WILLIAM E. F. BAKER was held this afternoon at the Fairview cemetery with Rev. MINER of the Whaley Memorial Methodist Church officiating. G. J. Carroll had charge. WILLIAM ELBERT F. BAKER was born January 12, 1849 at Clinton, Tennessee, son of Rev. GEORGE BAKER, pastor of the Methodist Church at Clinton, and Mrs. Baker, nee Miss ANNIE HOWARD MCADOO. His mother was born at Island Ford, French River, Anderson County, Tennessee, Nov. 1, 1922. George Baker and Miss Anne McAdoo were married Aug. 5, 1841. George W. Baker died Sept. 14, 1864 and Mrs. Anne Baker died April 26, 1865. Mrs. Annie McAdoo Baker was a sister of WILLIAM GIBBS MCADOO, who married Miss MARY MCDONALY of Tennessee. They were the parents of WILLIAM G. MCADOO of Washington, D. C. WILLIAM ELBERT BAKER had four brothers, GEORGE MORRIS BAKER, JOSEPH BAKER, ROBERT N. BAKER, JOHN ANDERSON BAKER and one sister MARY JANE BAKER. GEORGE M. BAKER is in Elgin, Tenn.; JOSEPH M. BAKER is in Washington state; R! OBERT N. BAKER, JOHN A. BAKER and MARY JANE BAKER are dead. WILLIAM E. F. BAKER and Miss EMMA TENNESSEE WHALEY were married Dec. 9, 1880 in Campbell County, Tenn. They came to Texas in 1902 with their six children, GEORGE BAKER now of Detroit, Michigan; FRANK BAKER deceased, BESSIE BAKER deceased, E. MCADOO BAKER now of Detroit, Michigan; LAURA BAKER deceased, and MARY BAKER now Mrs. JAMES HOGAN of Gainesville. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
