I hadn't heard of Stephen arriving in Wells from Coxsackie although I'm aware of Stephen, Peter & John being in Wells. They are mentioned in a War of 1812 pension for a Washington Craig. I also saw that Jeremiah Beagle in Coxsackie in the 1790 NY Census but never made that connection to the Wells Beagle's. I had thought that perhaps the Beadle families from the Beekman Patent might have been the immediate source of John Beagle, but again, I haven't been able to prove that either. Have you searched the land records or probate records for these families? I haven't.... yet. Do you have any dates for Stephen or Peter or where they ended up? I had known that Martha Downs Baker was a daughter of Francis as his Revolutionary War pension file contained her name as well as Samuel's. I had a suspicion that Elizabeth may have been a daughter as well, but again that pension file says Elizabeth was married to a "Miller". This could be her second husband of course. Thanks for pointing out that 1810 NY Census, Northampton with James Beegle(Bugle) next door to his brother in law Francis Downs Jr. I say Francis is the junior because it appears he would have been too young to be Francis Sr. I had wondered why there was no James Beagle anywhere in 1810... there was... under Bugle(which is probably two letter ee's written so tightly that they appear as a "u". I will try to do some research into the Bedell connection & let you know if I find anything. Best, James Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Grandparents names are Charles F Baker and Lydia Koertner Baker. Charles parents names are Frank Baker and Emma. He had a brother named Albert. Charles at one point remarried after Lydia passed and her name was Emma. Lydia's parents names are Conrad Kortner (koertner) and Henrietta. I know both sets of great grandparents came from Germany and were farmers. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. I seem to have reached a dead end.
