Author: GEMauchmar Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/1410.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: According to the censuses, Peter Beagle (my ancestor) resided in Clarkson, Genesee, NY in 1820, where his daughter, Marinda "Roxa" Beagle (b.1804), married Godfrey Clair (in 1823). In 1830, he resided in Barre, Orleans, NY, and disappeared. Peter was born c1780-84, and appeared to have many female children. He may have had a son, Ira Beagle, who lived in the area of Monroe county. I, too, attempted to determine the origins of Stephen of Otisville, MI, but was unable to prove that he was Peter's brother, and the same Stephen of Wells twp, based on the existence of multiple Stephens appearing in one or more censuses (I'm writing this from memory, and none of my research is online.) I was, however, aware that the Stephen of Wells hailed from Coxsackie, as this was mentioned in a history of Hamilton county, I believe (again, this is from memory). I live in western Michigan, and the New York records leave much to be desired, making my Beagle research quite difficult. Btw, k! udos to Washington Craig. His pension record is amazing, and we're fortunate to have it. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: lucilleballobsession Surnames: Baker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/16175/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My g-great grandparents are Albert L. Baker and Lillian Z. "Lillie" Baker (1882-1921). Her parents are William Jackson Baker (1861-1935) and Lydia Alemeda "Allie" England (1859-1931). I'm trying to find out more about this part of my family, specifically who my g-great grandfather is. I was told his name was Albert L. Baker, he married Lillian Z. "Lillie" Baker (1882-1921), and they divorced after having one child: William Jacob Baker (1902-1986) (aka: my great grandfather). I know this is true, because I found their marriage license. They were married on June 25, 1900, in Hunt County, TX. After their divorce, I think Albert moved to the Mineola, TX, area, but I can find no information about him. Albert is a mystery to everyone in my extended family. ANY help/information would be greatly appreciated! My thought is, because J.B. has a son named James Benjamin in Alabama, that his name may be the same. I have a small amount of info on J.B. from 1873 and 1880 Alabama, but that is it. I am attempting to use it to find info about his ancesters. Now, your J.B. would not be the same, because my J.B. had a son in 1886, Alabama. They could however be related... If I come across any info about your J.B. I will definately shoot you a reply through geneology.com to let you know.
