Author: alieberson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/144.336.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I had read both the Bly and Wayland books and I looked at the Philip Baker family thinking they might be connected to the Henry Baker family which I am a descendant, but I'm also a descendant of the Pitman family. I know that Bly had the family line and info on who came from Germany. I contacted him several years ago to ask if there was a connection with the two Becker (Baker) families and he knew of no connection. But other than Philip Peter Becker I have no information on the family. Andreas may have been a brother or a son of Peter. Author: heirsnbears4664 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/6913.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, This is what information I have, which is from census, birth, marriage and death records. Alice Beers/Belle Cain,b. 19 May 1898 Trenton,Mercer Co.,N.J. She was a dau. of Fred/Frederick V and Bessie May Beers Cain. Fred & Bessie were married 20 May 1897 Trenton,N.J. Besides Alice B., Fred and Bessie also had Anna May Cain,b.Nov.1899 (married 1916 Carl Wm.Hirsh) and Eleanor,b.1909. Bessie M.Beers, born Feb.1880,a dau. of Joseph E. and Alice A. Parsons. No marriage record has been found for Joseph and Alice. Bessie appears to be their only living child. Joseph Beers was b. Sept. 1850 N.J. listed as a carpenter in 1880 census, living @ 26 W.Rose St. Trenton. Alice Ann Parsons was born Nov.1859-1862 England. Her age on census & death record are not accurate. She was a dau. of John (b. abt.1835 England ,died ?)) and (Mary Jane) Jane Parsons(b. abt. 1835 England, died 1880 Trenton). I have seen Jane Parsons maiden name listed as Crisp & Cash, but have not proven which one.So far,I've not been able to locate any birth, marriage or census records from England. Alice also had brothers - Thomas Parsons,b.abt.1857-59 England,he died 1915 Phila. and John W. Parsons,b.1866 Trenton, married 1885 Trenton to Emma R.Davis and died 1917 and George Edw. Parsons b. 1868 Trenton, married 1890 to Lillian M. Booz and died 1923. I'm at a standstill until I find more information from England as to where and when John,Jane,Thomas and Alice were born. Do you have contact with any of Anna May or Eleanor Cain's family? Possibly someone could be of help? I hope what I've sent will be of help to you. Keep in touch. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: alieberson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/144.336.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I believe that Andreas Baker is related to Baker family of Strasburg, VA.which is not far from Winchester. Philip Peter Becker (Baker) came on the same ship as Nicholas Bittmann (Pitman). They were thought to be cousins and the Windle family came from the same area as well. Daniel Bly has written From The Rhine to the Shenandoah which includes the history of these three families. Another reference is the History of Shenandoah County by Wayland. These books are available in the archives of Handley Library in Winchester. While the Henry Baker family of Winchester, VA, was also from Germany they were not from Framersheim and I have found no connection to them and the Philip Baker family. Author: msdiver Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/144.336.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for relatives of Andrew (Andreas) Baker, a Revolutionary War soldier who lived in Winchester, Va. at least by 1782. He married Mary Windle (Wendel), d/o Samuel and Margaret Windle. He attended the same church as the original Henry Baker and H.W. Baker in 1790. I cannot find a firm familial link between Andrew and Henry, but Andrew is in the age range of Henry's children. He also "signed his name in German" as Henry did, according to records. I believe Andrew date of death is 1826. Any assistance would be appreciated. Will share information. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
