This file specifically mentions her marriage to Bert(Herbert) Salsbury [sic] in 1898 in Clermont IA. It was thought for a while that this was the key to who Maud's parents were, and it may still be. If Leona is Maud's mother, and John her father, why does none of the three appear in the 1880 census? Does anyone have any info on the Leona Baker?

Stancil, of said County and State, being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament. First. My executor, hereinafter named, shall give my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives, and pay all funeral expenses, together with all my just debts, out of the first moneys which may come into her hands out of my estate. Second. I give and devise to my beloved wife, Nellie Stancil, the tract of land on which I now reside containing twenty five acres, and all the personal property of which I may be in possession for the term of her natural life, or her widowhood. Looking for information on Aaron Baker, born abt 1784, maybe Mass., or NH. married Candace Church daughter of Amaziah Church, we believe. Candace was born abt 1794. The children of Aaron and Candace, were numbered 18. The first two Ira and Russell were born in VT 1812, and1813. the rest Vt, Ny, and Canada. Some names that I have found Ira, Russell, Seneca, Orange, Ebenezer, Julia, Rhoda, Lucy, etc. HELP
Would like information on the following Bakers. Abijah Baker born 1802 in Rhode Island. His father was Abijah Baker mother was Mary Jane Toogood. Interested in finding the last name of his wife Phebe who died 1838, and is buried in Huron County, Ohio. They most likely were married in Onondaga,New York, area. Next Nathan Baker married to Eliza Moffit. Would be interested in any background information. Ohio census says he was born in Connecticut. Both Nathan and Eliza died and are buried in Huron County, Ohio. Would appreciate any information possible on these people.

Wife was Mary Elizabeth Evans; children and approx. years of births were: Mary J. 1844, Catherine 1846, Marie Antoinette 1848, Moses Blake 1852, Alfred E. 1854, Ben F. 1856, William A 1860. Marie Antoinette married James Spence in Kemper Co., MS. Moses Baker married Nettie ? and lived in TX from 1880 until death in 1952 or later. I see lots of Blake Bakers in NC in early 1800s and suspect that they may have a connection.
