I have no idea why great uncle James Jackson Baker was born in Arkansas. The guess was they were visiting someone there. The brick wall is hit with my great grandfather, James Jackson's father, George Washington Baker born in Alabama. All census list his wife as Saleta, yet James Jackson's social security app. shows her name spelled another way and Hudman as the maiden name. Anyway I can't find any information on her or my great grandfather's parents. Their daughter Zela was my grandmother. On my grandfather's side all information stops with him. An orphaned twin. Seems nobody has information on these 'White' twin boys born in Tennessee. That is the larger brick wall. lol

There are others that I can't remember right at the moment. I can't find anything about my first George Washington Baker, besides the fact he was born in Alabama. And was married to a Saleta Hudman.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JCC.2ACEB/8781.1 Message Board Post: She was also my great-grandmother. I have her birth year as 1858. My aunt Georgia Ellis (named for her) has always said that her middle name was Carolina, and was named that way because she was born about the time the family moved from GA to SC. The 1860 census (pg. 276, Abbeville, Mountain View township) lists a Saml. S. Baker (37-yr) and Leonora Baker (2?-yr) with two 2-year old girls living with them, named Georgia and Carolina, as well as a 10-mo. old boy Theoph(olus). I put the two girls (twins?) down as a census error. My family is adamant that there were no twins. A 12-year old Georgia Baker is listed in the household of 40-yr. old Jane Baker in the 1870 census. I have one picture of her ca. 1924 holding granddaughter Orpha Lee Suttles. I am a grandson of Lawrence Rosco Speer. Which is your line? Barry
