    1. Memorial Day
    2. Lanita Sconce Smith
    3. It's Wed., and about the time that some of us will be going to get flowers, or preparing to leave for a weekend of decorating graves. At least, I hope you still place flowers on those loved ones' graves during these days. It's been a tradition here, to buy a few extra $1 flowers to take with us to place on those 1 or 2 lonely looking graves in those cemeteries where we will be decorating our own loved one's resting places. We don't do it for recognition. We don't do it for attention. We don't do it for praise. We do it because it helps us help someone else who would have loved to have been there to do it for themselves but for whatever reason, couldn't. It makes us feel good, feel a little kinship with that family, and perhaps think that that person MIGHT have known our ancestor.. No big deal, but can be as meaningful to the giver as placing flowers on our own family's graves.. So, if you can spare a couple of dollars or more, consider getting a few extras for those lonely forgotten graves. Maybe one day, someone will look at your grave, and do the same... May we will never forget! Lanita in MO
