    1. ABSOLEM BAKER
    2. I was informed a few years back that ABSOLEM BAKER was in Crittenden Co Ky in 1805 and EDMUND BAKER was there in 1808. This info was printed in a query from the BAKER NEWSLETTER in 1990. I am assuming that it was on Land deeds or property tax's. This is the Absolem Baker that is/was considered the father of John Armstrong Baker of Tenn. B c 1840 MD d 1833 Madison/Sangamon Co Ill. Pension papers also exist. I believe that his SON Edmond (possibly Endemion) was there at the same time, but never popped his head until 1808. BOTH were in Gallatin Co Illinois by 1814 where Absolem buys 160 acres and an Absolem Baker jr buys 160 acres (possible the same person) In 1816 Absolem is in Madison Co where he buys 160 acres. Edmond is in Franklin Co Ill in 1818. No trace of sales on the Gallatin land are currently known until 1855. The area is now Hardin Co Illinois. The important part here for me is that Edmond was appointed a road supervisor on this land also in 1814. Leap of faith says they are father & son. No will is known, but it is assumed that all of Absolem's material wealth had been given out to his family before his passing in 1833. It is assumed that his son Absolem jr was with him and that he died on that property. I would greatly appreciate anything anyone has. THANKS !! steve sundahl sspunk@aol.com

    3. I am looking for information on the parents of a Charles J. Baker born on April 7, 1900/1901 and died on February 23, 1972. He was married to Amanda Asenath Ackerson born August 23, 1907 and died June 30, 1978. They had five children from 1929 to 1937, some still alive. I believe his family immigrated through the NE states but would like to find the connection to the Baker family trees that have been listed in here.
