Surnames: Baker Blankenship Thompson Bentley Lackey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JCC.2ACEB/8954 Message Board Post: Looking for family connections. Does anyone have a Levi Baker, born 1800-1803 in North Carolina, Rowan or Iredell or Alexander county. He married Jane Bentley (?) and had sons Joseph Litten and Henry S., plus Betsy and Mary. Both of these sons died in the civil war. Joseph is my ancestor and he had several children before he was killed. His wife was T. M. A. Blankenship or Tirzah or Terzeh or something similar, Alexander county, N.C. They had Robert L., James Alexander or JAL Baker, and FLorence and another child. Two of these children were born after Joseph died but they kept the Baker name although I don't know who their father is. I have the actual Bastardy Bond for Robert L. Baker who I believe lived in North Carolina most of his life. If anyone has any Bakers living in this area or thinks they are descended from any of these siblings please email me. Thank you. P.S. The Baker DNA Project is really a great thing to be involved in. It will hopefully help us decipher these lines. www.bakerdna.net Thank you.

Jasper E Baker b abt 1886 could, age wise, be the son of Jasper Baker b 1864. Perhaps Jasper is a family name passed down since Jasper E named his son Jasper N. I don't know what happened to the children of Jasper E and Arrie A. They are 1st cousins to my mother, but no one in the family still living has seen them since a few years after my g-aunt died. Jasper E remarried Rosa and I guess somehow contact was just lost between the families.
