Elizabeth: My G. G. Grandfather Robert Baker was married to Sarah Christenberry in Campbell Cty. TN, 1823, d. Greene Cty., IN, 1879. Where were your Robert and Eliza and the dates? The name Christenberry just isn't seen that much, there has to be a connection of some sort. Would like to talk! This is one pioneer cemetery that goes by a few different names. The cemetery is located on 143rd Ave just East of Decorah. In the past there has been a family from the Chicago area out looking for their relatives at that cemetery. Am trying to locate that family for more information. Currently the only known (identified and proven) burials at that cemetery are Wilson Smith d. April 1860 aged 44 years and Rev. Jonathan Page, 1811-Jan 24, 1861. Wilson Smith was a miller and was married to Sarah E.. Children of this couple were Wilson, Henry, Robert G. (aka George Robert), John W., Mary Elizabeth and Susan Amozilla. Susan A. married John Atchison. Mary E. married John G. Phelps (aka George). The widow Sarah E. married a T.W. Sherman on July 15th 1860 in Winneshiek Co., Iowa. She then reverts back to Sarah E. Smith in 1863 per the probate record of her late husband Wilson Smith. In 1868 she is now Sarah Fuller per the probate record of her late husband Wilson Smith. Rev. Jonathan Page was born 15 May 1811 in either VT or Lower Canada. The current research is pointing more to VT but not to the family of Jonathan Page (1770-1831) and Elizabeth Shields (1784-1842). This is a family that many researchers have him linked up with but the dates of birth for him and William do not work. These researchers replace the Jonathan b.1808 with my Jonathan b.1811. Jonathan (1808) has a family of record that does not match the family of record of Jonathan (1811). Back to my Jonathan. He married Lamirah Baker in 1831 in Dorset, VT. They moved to Ontario, Canada and their children were born there. Children are: Derius Barnes, Dorsen (died young), Cynthia Jane, Ebenezer, Martha, Dorson Dewey, and Charles. Cynthia J. married Heber Robinson. Martha married John Barthell. Dorson D. married a Mary (unknown). Ebenezer married Eleanor. Charles died January 1864 from wounds sustained in battle during December 1863. Derius died in either 1838 or 1893! depending on your source. Lamirah (Baker) Page died 24 April 1851 in Illinois and is burried there. Jonathan remarried in 1851 a Sarah () Blake, widow of John Blake. Children with John Blake were Amanda E., Hugh Bowers, David A., and William Harrison. Amanda E. married James McWilliams on 24 June 1855 in Winneshiek Co., Iowa. David marries a Margaret. Hugh Bowers married Lenora and they end up in Kansas. Children of Rev. Jonathan and Sarah are Sarah Lamirah b.1853. After the death of her father, and I am presuming death or remarriage of her mother between Apr. 1864 and Jan. 1866, Sarah, as a minor, is awarded to Hugh Bowers Blake for guardianship by the court in Allamakee Co., Iowa. This award states that the guardianship is based on the fact that she is a minor heir to Jonathan Page deceased. She is the 1/2 sister of Hugh Bowers Blake. There are reported to be 30 burials in this cemetery and they are all supposed to be relatives. I need help from descendants to get the names of these people. If you have any information please contact me at [email protected] Thank you! Donna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
