    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: gayleclutter Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/15306/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for info on the family of my gr-mtr Bertha. Her & her sister, Belle, were placed in an orphanage by their father when their mother (name unk) was institutionalized. Belle was adopted (By whom?) & later married George Barth in Chelsea, MI. Bertha was sent as a servant to the family of William Horn, a farmer in Caseville, MI where she is listed on the 1900 census. The birth records of Huron county have been searched for both Belle & Bertha unsucecessfully. I am hoping there are some other Bakers that may come across info on this family. Also, does anyone know of orphanages in the Huron county area for that timeframe? Grasping at straws here.
