Author: spr00 Surnames: Baker, Richardson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/15399/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Greetings. Looking for information related to 'Ella May' married to Charles Richardson and living in Cayuga county NY around 1900. I have reason to believe her ('Ella May's) last name was 'Baker'. My great Grandfather (Jay D. Richardson) had a letter from Cayuga county responding to his request for adoption information - which they had none. However, they did send him a 'birth certificate' that had the name 'Clifton Baker' on it. Jay D. Richardson / Clifton Baker also pre-dates the marraige of Ella May and Charles Otis Richardson by 3 years. (Born approx jan 16 1893, Ella May / Charles married abt 1896.) 1900 Census attached. (See lines 74-77). I have hit a bit of a wall here. *any* info would be appreciated. Cheers Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Greetings, I am currently looking for information on two different Baker families, both of which are from Pennsylvania. First, I am looking for the ancestors of a Martha Baker (parents George and Barbara Lemmon Baker) from Madison, Westmoreland, PA. Martha's first marriage, to a John A. Black, produced a daughter named Lucetta Hannah Black, my 2nd great-grandmother. (My mother has a "death certificate" for John A. Black which lists as family Martha Gross, and Lucetta and Sarah Black. Not sure who Sarah is!) Also, I am looking for descendents of John Adam Baker, III, husband of Marie Elizabeth Silvius. John Adam Baker is my 5th great=grandfather. I am looking for descendents of him simply because in my possession is a book that was produced in 1922 listing the descendents to that point, including my grandmother/great-grandmother (because of an adoption, she was both!). My hope is to put together an update of that book by the time it turns 90 years old. Any help would be appreciated. Richard McClelland Simpson, III Researching most of Westmoreland County, PA :)

Author: James_Feenstra Surnames: Baker Wightman Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/15397/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for a Millard Fillmore Baker. Here is what I know thus far: >From census records of his children, he appears to have been born in Pennsylvania. He married Alice A. Wightman, also from Pennsylvania, just before 1900. They had two children (that we know of), Eleanor May Baker, born about 1900, and Millard Fillmore "Pete" Baker Jr., born about 1907. Family stories indicate that Millard Fillmore Baker Sr. had been married previously, and had a daughter Alice, from this previous marriage. Further family stories indicate that when he died, Alice (his widow) moved to Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh City Directory for 1910 confirms this, noting an Alice Baker, widow of Millard Baker, and an address that matches the 1910 Census. Alice Baker does not appear in any of the earlier directories, indicating to me a probable year of death for Millard Fillmore Baker Sr. of 1909. Any help in getting to the bottom of this mystery would be much appreciated! James Feenstra Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
