I posted a version of this announcement on the BAKER Message Board a few days ago and it was "gatewayed" to this list. Some of you may have read it. However, the next day my announcement was deleted for some unknown reason. I revised the announcement and tried again the next day with the same result. I don't know what might be deemed objectionable by Ancestry/RootsWeb or the Board Administrator but I give up. I am posting directly to the list in the hope that my message will survive. My "announcement" is below. *************************** The Pamunkey Davenport Family Association is proud to announce the publication of the long-awaited update to John Scott Davenport's Pamunkey Davenport Chronicles -- The Pamunkey Davenport Papers. To explain the Pamunkey Davenports requires explanation of the collateral and related families, and descendants of those families will find much of value in The Pamunkey Davenport Papers. Among the surnames prominent in The Pamunkey Davenport Papers are ARNOLD, BAKER, EVANS, GAMBILL, GLENN, GRAVES, SMITH, TERRY, WASH, WOODROOF, and WOODRUFF [and many more]. You can learn more by writing to [email protected] This message is from Nevada Jack on behalf of The Pamunkey Davenport Family Association, a non-profit organization. I am not researching your surname and only subscribed to this list in order to inform you of the availability of The Pamunkey Davenport Papers, which some of you have been waiting for. I cannot answer any questions regarding the contents of this work and I will be unsubscribing from this list within a few days. I recommend you visit our website for a full description of what the "Papers" include. http://www.pamunkeydavenport.com email [email protected] Happy Hunting and I hope you find what you have been looking for. I have a death certificate of a Heber M. Baker that lists the above as his father and mother. I am seeking the mother of my grandfather who had a brother named Heber and his father was Harry Baker. The year would be about 1860. No wife is listed in the 1860 census for Franklin Co., NC. The brothers were born in 1861 and 1863. Harry Baker remarried in 1866 so I assume this Lizzie died before then. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
