Author: kimsykes75 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baker/15438/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for more information regarding Mary Baker. I don't know that much about her, and what I do know is confusing. Firstly, I am not sure if Baker is the maiden name, or if its her married name. I would estimate she was born between 1820-1840, most likely in Virginia, but I suppose North Carolina, Kentucky, or Tennessee are possible too. I believe that she was the mother of a Margarette J. Bartley, wife of Eli Bartley, son of Jesse & Jemima Bowman Bartley. The marriage of Eli and Margarette took place in Buchanan Co. Virginia, they lived in this area and also in Pike County, Ky. The marriage records listed Magarette's maiden name as Puckett, but I have seen others list it as Potter. I also have death record for Margarett Bartley from Pike Co. that states Mary Baker as her mother and Aimis Willis as the father. Can't find a marriage with Mary Baker and Aimis Willis any where. Any help, ideas, etc are very welcome, I am at a dead end here. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
