    3. Richard, You might find it interesting to search on "Oberriexingen Geschichte". Perhaps most interesting is a link to a Zeittafel (timeline) on the city's web site. Also references to a Roman wine cellar turned museum and educational center, the great fire of 1693 that is still evident in the scorch marks on the tower of St. George's church, the periodic major floods of the Enz river, the 1200-year anniversary of the city, and mention of a couple of recent history books. So folks are clearly interested in their history. Perhaps a vacation trip is in order with a chance to ask about local historians.
