Elsie: Your right Thod's book, German English Genalogical dictionary is a great resource. Without it, I would not be able to figure out the occupations, calendars, diseases, holy days, etc. As long as you can read part of the word, you can usually find it in the dictionary. I bought a copy for our local FHC. No connection to Ernest, etc. Good luck everyone. The Germans were such excellent record keepers you can't afford to miss out. Give me a shout if you need help.
