    3. That sounds like one of those annoying pop-up ads that exist on various websites. I'm used to seeing that at Ancestry.com, but not on FamilySearch.org.   It also sounds like you might have some browser settings that only partially suppress pop-up screens. So you're seeing the outline of the pop-up screen, but you're not seeing the content.   My guess is that you can't see the pop-up content because your Java engine is not enabled, but if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it.  The more important setting is to enable your pop-up blocker, that would block any pop-ups from appearing and covering up the rest of your screen.  In MS Internet Explorer, that control would be found under the 'Internet Options' selection of the 'Tools' pull-down menu at the top of your browser screen; other browsers have it elsewhere, I couldn't tell you where.   All of the above is for long-term control.  For the immediate instance, I recommend clicking on the top right-hand corner of the large blank square you are seeing, even if you don't see an X or other exit character there.  That usually clears ('pops') the pop-up screen so you can again see what is under it. If that doesn't work, click the top left-hand corner; and if that doesn't work, try the <Esc> key.   This is a lot of speculation on my part, so I hope it works for you!   -S   > Date: Thu, 5 Apr 2012 10:10:35 -0500 > From: "Marvin Hoerig" <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [BW] Soc Sec Deaths > To: <[email protected]> > > Carol, et al > > I finally got the screen with the "Go to Previous Site".  It is just peeking > out from under a LARGE blank square in the middle of my monitor.  There is > nothing I can do in that blank space or the visible edges of the Family > Search site that peek out from under it - - neither a right nor a left click > does anything.  The Family Search screen is only visible for an inch or two > on either side of my monitor.  The only thing that works on the entire > screen is the little red "X" at the upper right corner. > > What am I doing wrong ? > > Marvin
