    3. I have found - along with many others - that if you let Ancestry do the automatic resubscribe at the end of your paid for period - be it a month, year or whatever - the costs are about double that you can get on special. So - the moral is - cancel, do not do the auto route. And then, sign up again when it is cheaper for whatever reason. Also check out Ancestry in various countries - it does not have to be in the US! I live in Australia and have six months through the US site currently. I have a friend living nearby who has used England (UK) in the past and is currently using Canada. It pays to know the conversion rates for your currency too - at one stage, by using the UK site instead of Australia or US versions, it was about $50 Aust cheaper. You do have to be somewhat insistent as it tries to default to the site of your own country, of course - persist - and there is a button somewhere, unobtrusive, to select the other countries from. I have never found it, mind you! For those in the US and other places who may find this strange, you check the coverage you can get, and you can certainly still get the US records or wherever. I have currently worldwide - or I could have had just US. Had I signed up to the Australian site I could have just had (Aust and UK), or world wide. I assume Canada would be Canada and UK, or worldwide. CHECK! I need England and Europe, not US, and have always had a beef with Ancestry as it will not let me say NOT US records in any way - and there are so many of them, much of it duplicated. GRRR! What a timewaster and hindrance it is. All that said, I too am on a fixed income, and have findmypast.co.uk as the main sub and treat for myself. They give a loyalty discount so it is usually cheaper to let the auto re-sub go through, than it is to rejoin later. Ancestry is an optional extra and I only got it last Christmas... 3. I subscribe to ancestry.com. I routinely switch from the US site to the Canadian site and the German site. They're all included in the annual price. I don't have any kin in Australia, but I can check that site too.
