Ruth and Diana, after the revolution 1848 the two adjacent princedoms Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Hohenzollern-Hechingen, at the south border of Wuerttemberg, were integrated into the Prussian Kingdom in 1850. Contrary to Prussia which basically is of protestant denomination, the two princedoms were Catholic. BTW Crane is not a German family name. So the first step should be to find out what the original German family name of Adolphus Crane was like.
