    3. It's going to take *lots* of guesswork, but often people coming to the US adopted (or were given by customs officials) anglicized versions of their name, or names that sounded like their name. Kran is one possibility. Another: an umlauted a in German sounds like he a in Crane is English. Can anyone think of a name similar? But its going to take lots of luck. It's sort of asking "I have a relative Bob Jones who comes from the US - maybe Kansas or Iowa . Anyone know where he might be from or more about him?" > -----Original Message----- > From: baden-wurttemberg-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:baden-wurttemberg- > bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of baden-wurttemberg- > request@rootsweb.com > Sent: Sunday, December 22, 2013 12:01 AM > To: baden-wurttemberg@rootsweb.com > Subject: BADEN-WURTTEMBERG Digest, Vol 8, Issue 198 > > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
