Hello, I have been researching my Schlageter family in Oberschopfheim. I have seen many different locations noted in sources. I need information on how to correctly site the town in sources. The time frame is 1624- 1824 Is it Oberschopfheim, Baden Oberschopfheim, Friesenheim, Baden Oberschopfheim, Friesenheim, Baden- Württemberg Any information is appreciated. Thank you. Judy, I have it in my German atlas as SW of Offenburg, Germany and SE of Strasbourg, France. Oberschopfheim is a suburb of Friesenheim so it would be listed as Friesenheim-Oberschopfheim with a postleitzahl (zip code) of 77948. It is just east of A-55 (Autobahn) and more closely B-3 (Reichesbahn). It's about 13km (as the crow flies)east of the Rhein River. This is the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) region. Craig, Thanks. I did check my map. Not as specific as your atlas but I did locate Schopfheim. I am assuming my source would read: Oberschopfheim, Friesenheim, Baden. I am looking at ancestors from the1600's through -early 1800's so it wasn't Baden- Wurttemburg until 1952. I did figure out Oberschopfheim, translates to Upper Schopfheim, Thanks to everyone who responded.
