    2. Judy Oberschopfheim has been part of Friesenheim only since 1972. From 1806 to 1936 it would be Oberschopfheim, Offenburg, Baden. Offenburg was the Amtsbezirk (admin district). From 1936 it would be Oberschopfheim, Lahr, Baden. Where Lahr is the Landkreis (county). There is a new book on 1250 years of Oberschopfheim available from the village for 32 euros. Just search for Oberschopfheim . Kent In a message dated 1/6/2014 6:48:29 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, festwiz@icloud.com writes: Craig, Thanks. I did check my map. Not as specific as your atlas but I did locate Schopfheim. I am assuming my source would read: Oberschopfheim, Friesenheim, Baden. I am looking at ancestors from the1600's through -early 1800's so it wasn't Baden- Wurttemburg until 1952. I did figure out Oberschopfheim, translates to Upper Schopfheim, Thanks to everyone who responded. Oberschopfheim is a suburb of Friesenheim so it would be listed as Friesenheim-Oberschopfheim with a postleitzahl (zip code) of 77948. It is just east of A-55 (Autobahn) and more closely B-3 (Reichesbahn). It's about 13km (as the crow flies)east of the Rhein River. This is the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) region.
