I would like to inquire about the surname: BOLTZ - BOLTZE - BAULTZER - BALSER (sp. used by his father-in-law, John Sphar) in his will) First name: Karl - Carl - Charles BORN - between 1821 to 1825 - Gives birth place as Prussia (sp. was hard to read) in the 1860 census, but the parents as born in England in the 1880 census.(died before the 1900 census so it can not be double checked. --- military for him or his father is mentioned and handed down thru an unreliable source. He was in his mid 30's when he married Elsie Sphar in Brownsville, Fayette county, Pennsylvania. Seemed kind of old for a first marriage for him.
