Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and help! Turns out that Röderthal's relationship to Elmstein (Bad Dürkheim, Rhineland-Palatinate) was the key - see several mentions of Röderthal on this page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmstein), which tells it was a mining settlement. Have sent for FHL films for Elmstein which, hopefully, will find the family mentioned there. Again, thanks for all the help! ~Carol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 3 Date: Thu, 6 Feb 2014 14:07:41 -0500 From: "Carol Hornung" <chornung@comcast.net> Subject: [BW] R?derthal To: <BADEN-WURTTEMBERG-L@rootsweb.com> I just uncovered a church record that states the person, Friedrich Manges, was a resident of R?derthal. My guess is that this is R?derthal, Bad D?rkheim, RP but I am not finding much on R?derthal itself. Is/was that a village? R?derthal is not listed in the LDS film library, although Bad D?rkheim has been filmed. The marriage of Friedrich's son took place in 1797 in Michelfeld (Angelbachtal), and other members of the family lived in Eschelbach (today part of Sinsheim in Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, BW). Is there anything closer to Sinsheim/Michelfeld that might be the R?derthal I'm looking for? Do you think I'm on the right track here?
