    2. Hi Matthew I'm hoping your copy of "Emigration from Germany to Russia in the Years 1763 to 1862" will shed some additional light on my Re my 3 gr grand uncle Christian Gottfried DOLL and his "foster parent" Jacob Kirn...I found some info online from "Ostwanderung der Wuerttemberger 1816-1822," Sammlung Georg Leibbrandt, by Karl Stumpp and published in 1941. Perhaps this is the same as your text. Her is all I know: Source: Markgroengen Evangelical Church, FamilyRecord Book Christian Gottfried DOLL was born 4 Jun 1787 in Markgroeningen, Ludwigsberg, Wuerttemberg, Germany He was Confirmed in 1801. Served as a soldier in the Russian Liebguarde (Lifeguard). Received a title (Nobility), name changed to Dollenius as a result of entitlement, emigrated to Petersberg (Russia?) in 1804 (I understand that the Liebguarde were bodyguards for Czar Alexander I. They were skilled marksmen. A friend from Russia says Petersberb & St. Pertersberg are/were one and the same.) also: Published by the Odessa Digital Library - 9 Apr 2001 http://www.odessa3.org/collections/ships/link/ostwand2.txt The following index data has been taken from the book, Ostwanderung der Wuerttemberger 1816-1822, Sammlung Georg Leibbrandt, by Karl Stumpp and published in 1941 S. They are the Germans From Russia Heritage Society http://www.grhs.org/ and the Americal Historical Society of Germans from Russia http://www.ahsgr.org/ Check out their web sites. Also there are German/Russian databases at http://www.odessa3.org/search.html Happy Hunting Matt PS Have you heard of the book by Karl Stumpp called the Emigration from Germany to Russia in the Years 1763 to 1862? I can do a lookup if you have details of the emmegrants name and what area of Russia they went to. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BADEN-WURTTEMBERG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ____________________________________________________________ Boost your online security with a personal firewall.
