The word folgt not foigt means to follow or step into the role of village mayor. He was the owner of the "Donkeymill". In 1573, his brother Jorg took over the role of village mayor. In the interim Jos Burkhart is identified as the owner of the mill which burned down several years before. Forget all of those supposed translation engines. They are useless in this context.
