Caroline, you have got the relation of the terms a little wrong, I am afraid. "früher Düren" is not a heading with "Rheinland" the related entry for that person. Rather the words belong together: "früher Düren, Rheinland" meaning "formerly living in Düren, Rhineland". The Rhineland region is mentioned because there are several German towns named Düren. The person in question was from the city of Düren which is about 15 miles south-west of Cologne. He or she later moved to the place where the death notice was issued.
