Greetings List, In the Wurttemberg Emigration Index I found the following: Johann Christoph BIHLMAIER; birth place Baach (no date); application date Apr 1831; destination South Russia; Number 856405. There are 23 other people with the same number. Two born Beinstein; app. date Apr. 1832 One born Waiblingen; app. date Apr. 1832 Some state South Russia, some just Russia My G-Grandfather, (Johann) Christopher Bylmyer (per 1855 Wisconsin, USA census) born 14 May 1814 Emigrated from Bremen (May 1838) to Baltimore, Maryland (29 June 1838) He was a Blacksmith by trade in the US. How do I find when he actually left? No knowledge that he came with other family. How would travelers get to " South Russia" from Baden-Wurttemberg? If they went North could they change their minds when they got to Bremen? Thank You for any help.
