Am trying to trace the following family: Arrived aboard the "Ship Taglioni" on 16 Apr 1846 to New Orleans from Baden, Germany, with his family: Sebastian KUHNE, age 40, born abt. 1806 Wife - Magdelaine RUFFIN, age 32, born abt. 1814 Children: Joseph, age 4, born 20 Mar 1843 Magdelaine, age 2, born 1844 Ferdinand, age 1/2, born 1845. Listed next to him was a possible brother, Andre KUHNE, b. abt 1814 with wife, Leonora, b. abt. 18?, and dau. Caroline, b. 1842. Sebastian ended up living in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio with his family. Would appreciate any help or suggestions in finding his birthplace. Thank you, Renee Harris
I am also interested in a KUHNE - Melchior KUHNE, CONY, KUEHNY and various spellings. The little info I have is this: he was married to the sister of Johannes Brown/Braun. Braun and 2 sisters came over. I do not know if they were married when they came or if the Kuhne marriage took place later. Though my info calls her Mrs.Cony, that is the only place it is so spelled. Braun is listed as a veterinary surgeon, and had three sons who served in the Rev. War. I am descended from Johannes Braun, the son.
