Dear Baden-Wuerttemberg List Friends, In recent days, several members' subscriptions to the Baden-Wuerttemberg Mailing List have been automatically unsubscribed by the RootsWeb computer system that operates the list. Here's the reason, which you may want to keep in mind so you don't experience the inconvenience of being unsubscribed when you don't want to be. We'd like to remind everyone that IF YOU WILL BE AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS, AND/OR ARE GOING ON HOLIDAY/VACATION, PLEASE don't forget to UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THE MAILING LIST temporarily. This helps prevent the RootsWeb computer system from *automatically dropping your address from the mailing list* due to undeliverable e-mail. If you forget to unsubscribe temporarily, here's what often happens. E-mailboxes in your Internet provider's computer system cannot hold an unlimited number of incoming messages---each service provider has storage space limitations. Once a user's e-mailbox reaches capacity, further incoming e-mail is REFUSED until the box is emptied by the user. If your e-mailbox refuses list mail, the RootsWeb computer will AUTOMATICALLY UNSUBSCRIBE your e-mail address. To avoid this, regularly collect your e-mail when you are home, and *temporarily unsubscribe* during vacations or other absences. Clicking on the appropriate link will automatically generate and address an email message from you to perform the requested action---all you need to do then is click on the "send" button in your e-mail program.
